Howdy, folks! Before this poll opened up, Kozmix and I shared a few words. We agreed that it would be good to hold a debate between the two of us in this thread, especially since the voting is starting to get serious. Tagging @kozmix so he knows to check the thread. Feel free to ask us questions!

Well since I've become the de facto question asker here is one for you guys:
Whoever wins this Mayoral election will be blazing a trail and setting precedent that all future Mayors will look to as an example and as a measuring stick to build on. What kind of mayoral infrastructure would you like to build up for future members of the region to inherit when they take on the role themselves?

Thanks, Jack. I'd like to cement something that has already been unofficially put in action. Thomas is officially in charge of the place, but he's empowered people to be able to do things without him. I don't see myself as a controlling mayor. I'd set a tone for the things I'd like to accomplish, and I'd look for people who I think would be most helpful to reach those goals. I'd help where I can, but typically I'd let them have the freedom to do what they think would work. This would go for things like recruiting, internal activities, or relations with other regions. I'd hope that this creates an example of a mayor who delegates, not micromanages. On a simpler note, I'd hope to set a tradition of length of term and term limits. After about 3 months I'd call for a challenge, then run for re-election. If I won that election I'd open a challenge for my seat in another 3 months and excuse myself from the following election.
