So let me preface this with saying I am an unbeleiver but I love and am so fascinated by the idea of the Paranormal, I was wondering if anyone else is? and if so who is your Favorite Cryptid or account of the paranormal?
I'm from WV so I love reading about our local spoopy creatures so mine is a toss up between Flatwoods Monster and Mothman.

Every possible variations you can think of. In a solar system that contains millions of planets there will be intelligent lifeforms out there

You believe we are the only living beings in existence? Despite there being millions upon millions of planets?

I beleive we are the only one who we will ever have proof of and contact with and that if life does somehow exists it's too far away to make contact, like past a red shift. which means since it is in observable It' doesn't matter if it does. So I'm going with maybe but no.
Do you believe they're made contact?

Yeah contact is made how else did we get the pyramids?
No not capable of making contact and possibly never, but I wouldn't rule it out. Certainly there has to be intelligent lifeforms somewhere on one of those planets but it is highly unlikely either we or them will be making contact with one another for another few millenniums. Though if we don't implode and kill off the planet and we invest in space travel it might be slightly sooner than that.

I'm ruling it out for me, simply because I don't think we will ever make contact to prove it. That being said again love reading about it. Like Valiant Thor I think is interesting and the MIB phenomena as well.

I've had to google those things... they sound completely unbelievable.
But just because something cannot be proved does that mean it doesn't exist?

For me personally quite so. I'm not religious or spiritual. I do not believe in the paranormal and I'm not superstitious.

I would argue that if we require proof for belief, shouldn't it work the other way? I don't believe in God, but I would never say with any degree of certainty that there isn't some higher power, simply because I don't know. I can't argue whether something does or doesn't exist based on my own knowledge or perception because they are ridiculously narrow in the grand scheme of things. There's lots we still don't know about our own planet, and lots we think we know that we'll find out we're wrong about in our lifetimes.
In those cases where we don't know, probability can be important. In an unfathomably large universe, is there at least one intelligent, or even civilized species out there besides our own? How probable is it that we're absolutely alone, or that there is nothing else?
There is very likely something out there. I wouldn't even begin to classify it, but it's there.

In a vast essentially infinite universe, it is statistically probably that other lifeforms, or aliens, exist. I don't believe we have ever interacted with aliens before. We probably won't. I suppose it's also important to differentiate the "type" of alien. Bacteria type life forms that live in extreme environments are one thing. Something like a dog would be another. A human or a creature of human intelligence is something different. Even if we one day do make contact with aliens I suspect that they wouldn't be the movie kind of aliens. They'd be pretty much humans from a different planet.

But it entirely dependent on the environment they grew up on and how they developed. I cannot see how there won't be intelligent lifeforms in this universe on one of the planets out there but I don't believe they will be capable of long distance space travel.

In the face of proof I'll change and adapt in the absent of proof I won't, despite my best efforts. Trust me I want to believe, that's why I dig this stuff so much.
